Social Money Times #14

Hello Rollers,

The interest in NFTs and crypto remains strong as companies like Adobe, GameStop, and Sotheby’s are looking for ways to be more involved in the web 3.0 space. There’s also a significant interest in DAOs as some of our social token creators start transforming their communities into DAOs, and we introduced a new section to spotlight them.

Welcome to Social Money Times #14!

Who’s on a Roll

1️⃣ Adobe supporting NFTs. Adobe, the developer of the world’s most popular digital creators software, Adobe Photoshop, will be dipping their toes in NFTs through “Content Credentials”. Users will be able to link their social media profiles and crypto wallet addresses to their work in the Photoshop desktop app, as a new way to provide further digital content provenance.

2️⃣ More like GameStart. Video game and consumer electronics company GameStop recently posted a job listing looking for candidates experienced with blockchain gaming and metaverse experience. The company is currently hiring for its “Head of Web3 Gaming” role, Coindesk reports.

3️⃣ Sotheby’s Metaverse. Fine arts auction house Sotheby’s launched a new platform dedicated to digital art, Sotheby’s Metaverse. Following several auctions of landmark NFTs on their central platform, Sotheby’s decided it is time to have a dedicated platform for digital art, bringing further recognition to the world of NFTs.

$FIRST Festival. Music producer and creator of $FIRST Harrison First performed at the first-ever Decentraland festival alongside 3LAU, Deadmau5, and Paris Hilton. To commemorate the performance at this historic metaverse event, Harrison created NFTs that anyone can buy on Rarible.

Humans of Social Money: Ross Peili of $RCDY

“$RCDY was initially conceived in January 2020, as a complementary mechanism to RareCandy3D’s native ERC-721 smart contract, and it launched in April 2020.

Although $RCDY is not marketed as of yet, there are already 130 unique holders, with 69 holding their tokens on Roll and the other 61 holding their tokens in their own wallet. The native token of RareCandy3D is already being used on OpenSea, where early supporters, artists, collectors, and event participants who got their hands on some precious $RCDY, can exchange it for fancy RC3 NFT Originals, as well as partner releases that we distribute under our umbrella, such as the Ethereal Audio International record label, and the Project Symposium physical wearables.

With the introduction and implementation of our new website and dApp, RCDY comes with a plethora of web3 utilities out of the gate, with a focus on light DeFi, gamification, badge leveling system, and more.” — Ross Peili, founder of RareCandy.
